Welcome to the Residential Life & Housing Service Request system.

In order to connect to the Student Network (ResNet), you will need to have your Cougarnet User name and Password. All First time users will need to register for Cougarnet by calling 713-743-1411 or  by email at support@uh.edu. If you already have a Cougarnet account and wish to reset your password please click here.

Note: Gaming consoles must be registered at Moody Towers Service Center located on the ground floor. You will be required to provide your Student ID, the MAC address of your game console, and your Cougarnet username (not your password) when submitting the Game Console Registration Form.

The authentication process includes gathering the MAC address of your computer’s network card, and a scan of  your computer to make sure that your antivirus patches are up to date. Going through this process will insure that you are able to connect to the network; you cannot connect until you do so.  NO PERSONAL INFORMATION IS GATHERED  or stored by this operation, other than your MAC address.  If your computer fails to pass, you will be taken to an internal UH site where you can obtain the necessary updates or tools to clean your system. Upon a successful scan, you will be issued a valid network address and the process is complete. Periodic scans will take place to insure that you remain virus free and up to date on your patches.

Before attempting to connect to the ResNet, please read the University of Houston Manual of Administrative Policies and Procedures: Policy 10.00.00, Policy 10.03.01, Policy 10.03.04, and Procedure 10.03.04 in affect for all Staff, Faculty, and Students.

The system is designed to provide you with a user friendly mechanism to submit service requests to RLH Operations, and to check the status of these requests as they are being worked on.

Priorities for IT Service Requests are as follows:

  • Security door card swipe malfunctions

  • Telephone service interruptions, as these pose a personal safety and security issue

  • Ethernet service disruptions

  • Cable TV problems

  • Note: This site does not handle any services for Cambridge Oaks.  For Cullen Oaks and Bayou Oaks, we only provide service for cable problems.
